Tips on How to Dress For the Flat Chested

Boob shrine in Japan. People go there to pray for breast milk, to cure cancers. I bet the most popular request is enhancements! It's big boobs everywhere nowadays. Boobs define women, it IS how you differentiate from a man. Besides, breasts scream sex. Men and women alike hanker after bigger than A cup breasts.

But big don't mean perfect.
Woman with N cup size bed ridden for 6 months. Read here.
Here're reasons why small chested women should be proud, confident and happy with their size:
1) You don't look fat
2) Your boobs won't sag

3) You look classy 24/7 and not slutty 24/7
Just check out Kiera Knightley. I always thought she's small chested, but i found one photo of her with her mammaries enhanced. Big boobs doesn't quite suit her though.
Even with her small chest, men has voted her as the sexiest women in the world. She came in tops in 2006 FHM poll, beating Jessica Alba, Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson all whom have 2 cup size bigger.

4) You can fit into any clothes easily (especially smaller sizes)
5) You won't be oogled at 24/7 (less self conscious)
6) You have dainty nice bras instead of huge cups like this

So long as your boobs aren't raisins or a airport runway, you ought to be satisfied with the way your body is.

Dressing well is all about refining the art of distraction and illusion. You get that right, and you have overall image balance. Lets admit it; breasts are a major focal point (men to the point of blindness), so if your lacking a bountiful bosom, read on. And the below don't need any chicken fillet or Nu Bras as the man in my earlier post taught. In our humid weather, they won't stick on!

One of the simplest is to have any detail around the bust area i.e. pockets, buttons, or patterns. Collars and wide lapels are good too as they draw the eye upwards towards the face, away from the empty space!

Flat chested woman can also wear double- breasted jackets and high necks (avoid if your chin has a twin) and look great, whereas on full busts, these can look chunky and ruin your look.
Often, small -breasted woman have great arms, so get those short sleeved tops and singlets on and draw attention to those great lithe limbs.

Also, if you haven't got the chest, then flaunt elsewhere! I always found the shoulders and back sexy.
One of my cardinal rules is to never flash too much. However, if one is flat chested, even if you wear something that is bare at the top and bare at the bottom, you will hardly look trashy.
This is a best kept secret. I feel that when you wear drapey dress/tops, it is very flattery on your bust.It hardly shows any cleavage yet it hints of one.
Make something out of nothing.

How to Wear a Bra

This is what i wear to hot yoga.
The shower room is a place i compare bodies and undies. It's a place where i feel assured my cup size isn't the smallest, a place where i confirmed pink nips exists only in porn and a place where Dove should shoot their next commercial because every woman parading naked in there is an epitome of confidence and self body loving.

Through the months of peeving, i noticed something. Caucasian and Asian women wear their bra differently.

I never thought there would be a difference until i witnessed it. While i can't generalize, I am sharing my observations from 10 Caucasians and 10 Asians.

The Caucasian will
1. Put the bra around her waist, clasp in front, cups at the back.
2. Then, looking down at the clasp, she hooks it together.
3. She then turns the bra around her waist so that cups are in front.
4. Lastly pulls it up to her chest and puts her 2 arms through.
5. Puts top/ dress on.

Whereas the Asian will
1. Put her 2 arms through.
2. Clasp at the back.
3. Gather the fats at the sides & push it into the middle.
4. Puts top/ dress on.

I find it amusing and analyzed why we do it so differently.

A. it could mean that Caucasians don't care as much as Asians about their personal belongings and thus not treat their bra delicately (wearing the bra waist up stretches the bra). It's like machine wash versus hand wash (i hand wash, you?)

B. Caucasian women are rougher, more assertive and speak their mind as demonstrated by their attitude towards bras.

C. In Western countries, Caucasian women buy their bras from Target etc where it can be as cheap as $5 VS Asians where Triump or Wacol can cost a minimum of $39.90.

D. Caucasian women do not need to "push in fats" like Asians do because they generally have bigger breasts.
A cleavage effortlessly
A cleavage with pushing and padding
As a woman, we ought to know how to really wear a bra.
Much lest a man does it better than us.

Crocs: Feel Good Revolution

Crocs has come far. Admittedly, when it was first launched, i thought it was a fashion disaster. I never thought i would see myself in one.
Until Crocs offered me a pair and it was undeniably comfortable to walk and walk and walk in them. It is also super light to pack into the suitcase for travel.
This is my first pair of Crocs retailing at SGD 169.
Crocs started off as the shoe that everyone made fun of. So they introduced cute little pins that you can purchase to customize and perhaps make it look a little better.
That didn't quite work for me but now, they have more visually appealing designs which came as a pleasant surprise!
This is not found in Singapore but so cute!

The men are not left out too. Loafer is the trend these days.

Who says you need to sacrifice comfort for vanity? With Crocs feel good revolution and prettier designs, you can have your cake and eat it too.

The Panty Guide

In the female shower room, I like being a voyeur. I look at breasts, I look at asses, I look at panties. I was surprised to see many older women actually wearing sexy lingerie! The judgmental side of me went “Woah, Aunties also know how to be sexy leh. But their ass is saggy, but again, she is wearing sexy underwear!! How does she know how to?!?”

When I visited Hong Kah Point (Blk 501-508, Jurong West) over the weekend, I figured out how Aunties knew about staying sexy underneath. It’s because, in the heartlands, lingerie as tantalizing as Victoria Secrets or La Senza is being sold! And when it’s $1.90, do you think the Aunties will think twice?!?
The Bra House: Without a fancy store name, you pay 1/10 the price.
My colleague spent $79 for a g-string in lieu of her first night of consummation. That’s for a measly piece of cloth that is barely covers. It may be a French brand, but I believe the $1.90 found in the heartlands will also garner a standing ovation. The men can’t tell!

Another girlfriend only wears cotton because she always thought her husband felt lace and bright bold colours scream slut and so she stays virginal with pastel cotton panties like a school girl (if her husband is turned on by that, it's a sign of a paedophile).

Like finding the right bikini to suit your body type to choosing the right clothes to accentuate body parts, here’s the Panty Guide for sex appeal. And because it’s Chinese New Year, I picked red on purpose. Be lucky, be sexy!

G-String
Offering the least coverage, this is virtually invisible under clothes. Wear this if you are wearing a figure hugging or lightly translucent bottom. Visible panty line is a huge fashion boo-boo.

For whom: Be honest. Is your ass nicely rounded and cellulite free? If it isn’t, the G-string isn’t for you when without clothes on.

Comfort level: 2/10 you will often feel something is up your ass, literally.
Please avoid butterfly mortifs like this though. It makes you look like a hooker.
Thong
Also known as a T-back, a lot more comfortable than the g-string, the thong is a sexy little no-show. It offers a hint more coverage than the G, yet perfect under the most revealing fashions.

For whom: Same as the G

Comfort level: 5/10 sometimes it can still get scrunched up and you will again feel something is up your ass, literally.

Cheeky
Now, the cheeky is as the name implies. A little panty with lots of cheek peek. More back coverage than a thong but less than a bikini. The perfect pick for when a little reveal is all you want.

For whom: The ones who are honest enough to admit they don’t have a nice ass but thick skinned enough to insist on showing her ass.

Comfort level: 10/10 almost as comfy as a period panty

Bikini

The underthing for everything. It’s the most common type in any panty wardrobe. Make it sexier with a string option instead of the usual band.

For whom: anybody and everybody, mostly pubescent girls, where they buy in box packs.

Comfort level: 10/10

Briefs/ Hip huggers
These border on a thin line between sexy and frumpy. Wait, forget sexy, you can’t make this sexy unless you look like a Victoria Secrets angel. Even if it’s lace or in never-fail-black. Looking very much like grandma panties aka girdles, these ARE the period panties.

For whom: anyone having the time of the month. Note: not time of her life.

Comfort level: 10/10 only that your confidence and sexiness level will plummet to 1.

Boyshorts
The best for the last, this is the MOST flattering for all body types. It’s a sure-win combination. Lace + boy shorts cut. It’s comfy, it’s cute and it gives a very flirty silhouette.

For whom: Flat asses get the illusion of a perk ass. Huge asses take the attention away from it being big. Perky asses, speechless.

Comfort level: 10/10, this is NOT period panties.

Do Singaporeans dress badly?

Before i start on the fashion faux pas of Singaporeans, let me first state that alot of my foreign friends feel Singaporean girls are the epitome fashionistas in Asia. The Hong Kongers and Taiwanese prefer Singaporean girls because they can dress well (I thought the Hong Kong and Taiwan females would dress better. Apparently, the locals don't think that way. What we thought was what we saw on TV). They saw us as "fiery".

The Europeans, they like Singaporean girls because they wear flirty sexy dresses unlike their girls because of the cold weather almost all year round.

So, the foreigners pretty much think Singaporeans dress well. However, that can't be said of our men. They're pretty much always dressed down. And then stereotypically, if a Singaporean man dresses a little bit more formal in a club, the girls assume he is a foreigner (as my Singaporean male friend tells).

So when Singaporean men dress a little better, they are deemed as 1) metrosexual, 2) poseur or 3) foreigner.

My opinion on Singaporean men is neutral (the only thing the bf probably has to say is all of them seem to have the same haircut!) I would think its the Korean influence.

However, i can give my opinions of the fashion sense of Singaporean women...behold...the Dos and Don'ts of Fashion.

1) Ankle Boots
To me, even the celebrities can't carry off ankle boots with bare legs (unless with jeans or leggings). I've seen them in Singapore and not only do we laugh at people who wear boots in our humid weather, we cringe when its ankle boots. It makes your legs look short.

2) Latex leggings
Did you run out of allowance to use thrash bags as leggings? This is the second thing that i feel even celebrities cannot carry off. This trend hasn't really taken off yet here, but i have seen some already starting it. Pleeeeeease, don't.

Then again, if you do, i still applaud you your boldness in making a statement. We need less copycats.

3) High Waist Belts
I think almost every girl owns one now. It is a great accessory to instantly jazz up your outfit and give a better defined waist. Australia started it 2007, my mother wore it in the 70s. But you know what? My male friend told me he thinks the high waisted belt is not flattering. In fact, i've heard more than 1 man say that. What do men know?! Bah.

4) High waisted stuff

Again, this is very in trend but my male colleague the other day just said the body looks short with these high waisted stuff. The men just don't get it.

5) Dressing like a slut
A personal rule i'd like to follow almost religiously is to not show your top while flashing your lower half. Do it with class, and not with crass.

6) Grooming
Both men and women need grooming. Don't end up like Cecilia Cheung.

7) Visible Panty Lines
Butt cracks are a big boo-boo.
Gotcha! That picture wasn't a real butt crack. It was created in between my knees.I've seen countless girls flashing their ass while squatting or sitting around Orchard. If it is unintentional, it's forgivable but i think everyone needs to be mindful of it. Some even purposely show off their tong underneath! Low-waisted jeans are very bad for the back, so maybe the high waisted fashion is a good thing.

This reminds me, see through bras are also a no-no. Remember, do it with class not crass.

When i was in secondary school, there was this girl who developed earlier than we did. And to show that off, she wore coloured bras with bright prints to flaunt. And when she gets drenched in the rain on the way to school, she acts all shy and embarrassed but i bet she was secretly pleased as she thrust her chest out.

How we called her a slut but secretly envied her chest.
I almost got a wedgie!

8) If you want to go fake, do your research.
Almost everyone in the train has a Gucci bag. From the young girls to the aunties to the grannies. I give them the benefit of the doubt of it being the real thing, it's not a crime carrying a fake if you really want to be brand conscious. But if you do want to carry a fake, do your research!! So you know what REALLY exists and not become a laughing stock like Rick Ross who wore a fake LV glasses on a magazine that soon received a lawyer's letter from LV. You know how these labels take piracy seriously.

9) Being Real

Singaporean women are well sought-after by many men. But i always joke with them what if after unwrapping the present, then they find out its not what it seems? Singaporeans are so updated with fashion "helps" in the market that image is no longer kept real. Fake eyelashes, push-up bra, girdles, double eyelid stickers, make-up etc.

Here's what i mean...

10) Lastly, wearing PJs out

It has been a trend, but not quite rampant yet. Mainly because Singaporeans are still pretty much conservative. I personally own a few corsets and nighties that is good to wear in public, but still, i am not daring enough. In my mind, it's still lingerie. And i wouldn't know how the boyfriend would react! There are a handful of women who do it, what do you think of them?

Sex-pots or bad taste?

I think women can definitely wear their PJs out provided its not translucent but please wear a bra! They can also wear big sleep shirts out with a high waist belt and tights or leggings. Men, however...i'm afraid their boxers and ah pek stripey PJs will have to stay home.
I think i'll stick to non-PJs clothes for public for now. But i did see a lace-silk nightie last Saturday in a lingerie shop that makes me feel almost confident to wear it out in public. So maybe, i will.

Watch this space.

P.S the Great Singapore Sale has started, you should have scoured before it started so you know exactly what you want and don't have to wait in queue for the changing room. Next year perhaps! Unlucky for me...i will need to do my shopping in Japan :p
